EXPERIENCE
With over 30,000 wells drilled since 1995, Phoenix has the experience to drill more efficient, accurate and productive wells. We possess in-depth technical knowledge of the land drilling market and have drilled wells in every key basin across North America. Additionally, we have leveraged our expertise internationally in Russia, Albania and South America, deploying fit for purpose technologies suited for each unique drilling region.
From the Cardium to the Viking, the Permian to the Niobrara we know the drilling techniques required to outperform in each basin. Our large fleet equips us with versatile technology that allows us to successfully drill in the harsh air-drilling environments of the Marcellus shale to the deep and high temperature environments found in the Bakken. Our well planning, survey management and field personnel have the expertise to drill all well profiles and to all depths, from shallow wells to deep horizontal wells from vertical wells to S curves, from side tracks to complex pads found in the Monteny.
PERMIAN BASIN
Superior performance achieved in the Permian basin. (Q1 2010)
Phoenix achieved a record intermediate run for Apache Corporation drilling a 7,271’ run, holding and dropping out a 10° tangent averaging 238’/hr. (Q1 2020)
Phoenix reduced drilling time by 30% for a client in North Upton County due to our commitment to their success. Through this partnership, we have now drilled their fastest horizontal section and have our sights set on surpassing this record. (Q3 2015)

SCOOP/STACK
With the combination of our Atlas motor and our Velocity MWD system, Phoenix drilled the fastest 2 mile lateral breaking the previous record by 1.7 days. (Q1 2019)

MARCELLUS & UTICA SHALE
Our team drilled the vertical section and landed a curve in one run in an application where RSS is typically deployed for the curve section. Then, we went on to drill the 11,392 ft. lateral section with an average ROP of 271 ft./hr. and we set a 24 hour footage record for our client!
Phoenix drilled the vertical section and landed a curve in one run in an application where RSS is typically deployed for the curve section. This was a first for our client in this area and this accomplishment delivers significant cost saving to our client. (Q3 2019)
Drilling a lateral of 6,230' in the first 24 hours allowed our client to achieve a 19% improvement record, proving our dedication to our clients success. (Q3 2015)

WILLISTON BASIN
With our 7.25” Atlas high performance motor, Phoenix was able to break a client’s 24 hour footage record by drilling over 5,399 feet in 24 hours with an impressive ROP of 225. (Q4 2018)
Crescent Point Energy set a new 24 hour footage record during the drill out on the Makowsky 3, drilling 5,607' and breaking the previous record by 50'. (Q3 2017)
Our success is based on our continual efforts to exceed your expectations. We reduced our clients record from spud to TD by 5% and spud to release by 11%. (Q3 2015)

CANADA
Our 7.25” Atlas motor allowed us to drill our deepest measured depth we have ever drilled in Canada with zero NPT. (Q4 2018)
Phoenix and Shell Canada achieved a record ROP in the Montney with our new 5” Atlas High Performance Motor. With its robust design only a single motor was required to drill the 3,079m lateral section. (Q1 2018)
Our optimization services contributed to a 20% reduction in overall drilling days ultimately driving down their bottom line. (Q2 2015)
